Dr. Rita Carey, director of RCM Associates, is a Career Development Coach with 20 years experience in Career Management. She has helped thousands of individuals find their preferred work and assisted them in navigating transitions with grace and ease. Having made several career transitions of her own, she knows well the challenges and struggles encountered by people seeking to make changes in their life and work.
In her coaching practice, Rita assists clients with identifying the career and work environment that will influence their career success. Her practice includes clients who want to improve opportunities in their current organizations, clients who are considering a career change and those who have experienced unwanted job loss.
As director of FutureWorks Career Center, she designed a program to serve in excess of 7000 people in job transition annually. The center received an outstanding performance award from the National Alliance of Business. Rita has managed career centers for General Electric, Pratt and Whitney, Walden Books and served as advisor to the IBM transition center in New York State.
Rita served as Director of Career Development at the University of Maryland School of Law and continues to serve lawyers in her private practice. Affiliated with the practice of the late Deborah Arron, JD, Rita continues to build on Deborah's comprehensive career transition work.
In 2005, Rita served as a delegate to China with the People-to-People Ambassador Program. Representing US Career Development professionals, Rita met with Chinese university staff members in Beijing and Shanghai in a cultural exchange of career development programs and resources.
Rita is a certified professional coach and has been described as warm, wise, smart and creative.
